OMG! Judge Cites Constitution In Health Care Ruling

U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson, ruled today that Obamacare is unconstitutional. In his ruling,Judge Vinson makes this radical assertion; "Regardless of how laudable its attempts may have been to accomplish these goals in passing the Act, Congress must operate within the bounds established by the Constitution,"  Read the full article at Reuters, here.

The Threat At Gun Free Zones

From David Condrea at National gun rights Examiner,Will terrorist in next attack on U.S. enter from Mexico?; That or schools, as happened in Beslan.
The softest targets would be so-called “gun free zones.”  And no doubt “assault weapons” would be used.
Leading to a frenzied nonstop blood dance accompanied by furious demands from opportunistic politicians, zealots and the media to further disarm Americans, rendering us even more vulnerable…
Is there any doubt that would be their reaction? Read the full article here.

I think the biggest potential target against the United States by Al-Quadi or any other terrorist group is our schools and other gun free zones. The Jihada's have surely  by now noticed how terrified we are of violence at ours schools and its only a matter of time before they deliver a Mumbia style attacks against them somewhere here.

Gun free zones are unsafe zones. The best deterrent to criminal behavior is a well armed citizenry, their is no doubt.A well armed citizenry is also the best deterrence against terrorism too.

More gun control laws are not the answer.Terrorist nor criminals abide by the law.The only ones affected by gun control laws are the law abiding citizens of this country, who only would defend their family, home and country with their firearms.

The answer,is as our founders designed it,in our Constitutional and our God given right,to bear arms.

Should We Celebrate The Civil War Or Not

First of all let me be upfront and transparent about my use of the term Civil War in the title, rather than,as I believe, the more proper term of War Between the States. It is a shameless effort on my part of trying to gain notice in search engines and increase blog traffic,by using the more well known term for the WBTS,the Civil War.Thank you for indulging me.

Their is a lot of consternation among many as to whether we should celebrate the 150th anniversary of WBTS.They believe,"their is nothing to celebrate."For them,it is a period of our history that should be remembered only with anguish and mourning.

Others, like me, believe we should commemorate. the war.Marking this time in our history with solemnity, honoring and paying homage to those who participated in those events 150 years ago.Celebrating the valor, and bravery of those, both North and South, who demonstrated these virtues on many battlefields.

The WBTS was a painful time in our history and we should mourn that their couldn't have been a more peaceful way to resolve our difference's.We shouldn't forget, however, that out of this pain the endominal human spirit shone through, producing many great men,who have been denoted by history and others only known to their own posterity and some only remembered by God.

Remembering The Space Shuttle Challenger And Its Crew 25 Years Later

Most everyone who was alive this day 25 years ago can remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news that the space shuttle Challenger had exploded. It was a bitterly cold day and school was cancelled and I was home listening to the radio and they broke in and announced this terrible tragedy when I first heard the news.

As we remember this day,let us not just remember the event, but let us remember the brave souls that perished in this tragic event.Commander Franics R. (Dick) Scobee,Pilot Michael J. Smith,Mission specialists Ronald E. McNair, Ellison S. Onizuka, and Judith A. Resnik,Payload specialists Gregory B. Jarvis and Christa McAuliffe, all brave and not forgotten.

No finer tribute can be paid to these daring modern day explorers, than the tribute President Ronald Reagan paid to them 25 years ago on the night that this tragedy occurred.

The 2 Sides Of Georgia Secedeing From The Union

This article, from the Dalton Daily Citizen tittled, Civil War anniversary: Georgia secedes from the union, I thought brought forward some very good information on Georgia's secession from the union.

The first point being that they were 2 "camps" in the secession movement in Georgia.One,pro-secession, favouring immediate secession. While the other faction, known as the, cooperationist, favoured a more wait and see approach, preferring to wait until after Lincoln's inauguration to contemplate whether their was a need for secession or not.

Alexander Stephens, the future Vice President of the Confederacy, was one among many who held the cooperationist view.Stephens asked the General Assembly to wait, saying: “In my judgment, the election of no man, constitutionally chosen to that high office, is sufficient cause for any State to separate from the Union.” Not everyone was a "fire eater."

Also, the article gives an interesting glimpse into some of Georgia's demographics at the time:With just over one million inhabitants, Georgia was the most populous of the Lower South states.  Approximately 56 percent of its population was white, and the remaining 44 percent were black — almost all of them slaves. Despite the large slave numbers, however, only 37 percent of adult whites actually owned slaves. And those owning 10 or more slaves were concentrated in the cotton-producing areas of Middle, Southwest, and Coastal Georgia. Thus almost two-thirds of the white population had no direct investment in either the state’s plantation economy or in slavery. As a result, the decision over secession could not be easily predicted.

Most liberal historians today, believe the,War Between the States, was fought exclusively over slavery and its economic impact in connection to the whole South, both slave holders and non-slave holders.According to the above quote ", almost two-thirds of the white population had no direct investment in either the state’s plantation economy or in slavery." in Georgia.Their must have been other issue's,not just slavery,in determining Georgia's reason to secede from the union.

Camelot,Spamelot

The media was full of stories this past week, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of John F. Kennedy as the 35th President of the United States on Jan 20 1961.While the media was awash in nostalgia of the revision of history, they call"Camelot,"I began to notice a tremendous difference between the ideal's of the present Democratic party to those expressed by JFK,a quarter of a century ago.
In Kennedy's inaugural address he made this declaration;"...the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God."
The Democratic party  firmly believes the opposite today. They have no concept of Natural Rights, failing to understand that man's natural disposition is to be free. They believe that even our daily lives should be regulated to every last detail.Telling us what we should eat, where we should live, what mode of transportation we should use, even what kind of light bulbs we should use to light our homes. They view the people as ward's of the state, not,as it should be,the government as a ward of the people.
The most famous line from the inaugural address was this;"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"
This runs counter to all the various groups who comprise the Democratic parties base of support. They are a collection of grievance mongers, seeking to receive from the federal government what they believe they are entitled to because of their gender, race, creed,or sexual orientation,in the name of equality. They do or produce nothing to improve their station in life or that of their community, but rather seek the government to rectify the wrongs they believe have been perpetrated against them.
JFK also avows this in his speech;"Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate."
And this;"For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed."
In these 2 quotes Kennedy affirms the doctrine of peace through strength. The Democratic party today seeks peace through appeasement, which is peace through weakness. They refuse to learn the lesson's of history, that tyrants care not one red cent for our good intentions ,but for our ability to defend ourselves against their tyrannical desires. If you project weakness, you shall surely be attacked. If you project strength you will produce peace and be secure.
Though the Democratic party invokes the name and memory of John F. Kennedy, his spirit is far removed from what they are today.

No Cats,No Dogs,George Washington Not Allowed

I don't know who said this, but I believe it to be true,"you can judge a nation's greatness by the heroes they choose to honor."When a nation memorializes a person in stone or some other work of art, they are saying"this man or woman best exemplifies who and what we are."Thats why you wont find statues to Adolf Hitler in Germany.Thats why so many nations belonging to the Warsaw pact at the end of the Cold War pulled down the statues and edifices of Lennon and Stalin, they no longer represented who and what they are.
In Washington D.C.,we have chosen to honor many men and women, most prominetly,Thomas Jefferson,Abraham Lincoln, and the father of our country,George Washington, very soon we will add a statue to,Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.By honoring these people we are saying to ourselves, our posterity, and the world in which we live,"that these individuals best represent who and what we are."
Now this fromFree North Carolina; The annual MLK observance at the state house in Columbia SC had an interesting twist this year. The event is held on the north side steps of the statehouse. Prominent at that location is a large bronze statue of George Washington. This year, the NAACP constructed a "box" to conceal the Father of His Country from view so that participants would not be offended by his presence.
Via Billy
I also equally believe that a nation's or a group's greatness can be judged by the heroes they choose to dishonor, those they choose to remove from their sight and hide in a "box."The NAACP through this action has told us who and what they are. They have told us,like most liberals, they discount most of our history pre New Deal and the Counter Culture of the 1960's.They have chosen to,unlike Dr.King,to judge people by the color of their skin, rather than the content of their character. They have chosen to segregate themselves from the rest of America and our history.

Happy Birthday General Lee

Happy birthday,General Robert E. Lee.God bless you and thank you for your service to your country Virgina, while in both the United States and the Confederacy.

In all your suffering's and trial's,you kept the faith and retained your honor. In the moment you would consider your worst, that moment you said,"you would rather die a thousand deaths than do,"you did your greatest service for your country, both North and South. At Appomattox you surrendered your army but you did not surrender your honor or the honor of any soldier who served in the Confederate army anywhere or at any time, thereby giving honor and dignity to all the South, for all time.No Southerner, because of your leadership, ever had to hang his head in shame for their ancestor's service in the Confederate army, for that we say thank you.You are and shall ever be,the South's greatest hero.
