'So Who Needs Romney?'

Ever since Rand Paul endorsed Romney I have been really depressed.Ron Paul seems to have left his supporters hanging, refusing to stand up on their behalf against the establishment, while they are out in the trenches literally risking life and limb.I'm really disappointed in Ron Paul over this, but that's water over the dam.

One thing Romney and the establishment needs to understand, just because Rand endorsed you doesn't mean that WE -those of us who have supported Ron Paul- will follow in his foot steps.Doug Weed makes this point clear:
Establishment Republicans and the main stream media are having a difficult time understanding why Ron Paul supporters aren’t just falling into line behind Mitt Romney.  Don’t we want the GOP to win?  And don’t we want our own candidate to win the nomination someday?  And if so, don’t we realize that we have to be loyal to the nominee this time?
Of course, these are the same establishment Republicans who are hiring off duty policemen to arrest and detain our duly elected county chairmen, or locking the registered rolls of delegates in the trunks of their cars so that the convention cannot have a roll call vote and they can claim “Ayes have it,” when the “Ayes” don’t have anything.
And this is the mainstream media that gave Ron Paul 89 seconds of an hour long televised debate.  And who in another debate, gave their anchor almost as much time as Dr. Paul, the presidential candidate.  And who ignore videotaped state conventions where delegates have their bones broken for more compelling news stories elsewhere.
We see the train headed toward a canyon and the bridge is out.  There is going to be a great crash.  And meanwhile, we are being urged to change the engineer.  “Obama is driving this train 100 mph!” we are told by hand wringing, hysterical, establishment Republicans.  “We need to get Romney in there.  He will slow it down to 95.”
One point I would like to add to this, while the establishment love to demand that we fall in line and support the nominee, this is something they rarely do.When Christine O'Donnell won the Delaware primary in 2010 the 'All-Stars' on Fox attacked her viciously. When Lisa Murkowski lost to Joe Miller in the Alaska GOP primary, she didn't accept the result, she ran as a independent in the general election. Not to mention the attacks upon Sarah Palin and others that came from the GOP.

We don't owe them anything and its going to be a pretty cold place in you know where before I vote for Romney!

'Winning The Battle - Losing The War'

Every news outlet is reporting that Romney has secured the GOP nomination with his win in the Texas Primary. That's not really true though.

Ive said this before. If Romney and company expect my vote come November they have to be out of their minds, after trying to silence mine and millions of others vote in the GOP delegate process.

The Neo-Cons Are Getting Nervous

From a very popular conservative blog,Atlas Shrugs:
There is a Paulian putsch underway. I have been receiving alarming emails concerning an underhanded, anti-American Paul coup at the GOP convention.
From Virginia: "I'm running for delegate to the RNC convention in Tampa.  There is a serious Paulbot infestation in the GOP here in Virginia.  I'm spending a lot of time at GOP apparatchik meetings.  I've gotten the endorsement of the Conservative Coalition (I was the top vote-getter) and usually that is enough but not this cycle."
I recently touched upon it here: Paulbots Sabatoge Another Republican Caucus - Atlas Shrugs, but it is much bigger than that. Paul is a dangerous, self-deluded man and his followers behave like occupy fascists.
I may not have been Romney's first supporter, but I am his last supporter and fierce. I would have preferred someone more conservative, but Romney is going to be the GOP candidate, and next to Obama, Romney is the Ronald Reagan. Obama and Ron Paul would split the freak vote. Paul's putsch must be stopped. Ron Paul supports a nuclear Iran and the abandoment of Israel. What is the RNC doing?
Pamela Geller, you are a mental gymnast to draw these conclusions.A man who supports an America first foreign policy is anti-American.Someone who is operating by the rules is underhanded and is trying to stage a coup.Plus his 'followers' (supporters) who operate by the same rules also 'behave like occupy fascists.'He never attacks his opponents personally, but he is dangerous and self-deluded.Yes,Ron Paul is a menace to society and must be stopped at all hazards. Please!

For this mental somersault,Pammy, you win the gold medal though,"next to Obama,Romney is the Ronald Reagan."Next to Obama,Bill Clinton bears a striking resemblance to 'The Gipper.'But take Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, stand them up against Reagan, then tell me who is more like Reagan,it 'ain't' Romney.

Maybe,Pam,Ron Paul isn't the one who is self-delusional here?

Mitt Romney Is Trying To 'Purge' Ron Paul Delegates From The RNC

Doug Wead:
Remember my warning that there were votes in a locked box taken from the state convention in Arizona?  And that the Ron Paul victory there could be reversed if someone wanted to cheat?  Well they did, and we lost it.  I am gathering the facts and it is stunning, with 100 new ballots appearing out of the Romney ether.
Worse, there is evidence that the Ron Paul victory in Louisiana, a victory that even the media acknowledged and proclaimed to the world, may be reversed as well.  I will give you the details Monday.
Meanwhile, there is evidence of a full scale purge of any Ron Paul delegate, from any state, to the RNC.  If you are a delegate, keep your head down.  They are looking for you.  More on all of that this Monday.
You know these people have to be out of their mind if they think they are ENTITLED to my vote.

'Your Silver Has Become Dross'

From Godfather Politics:
There was a time in our nation’s history (not long ago) when goods were purchased with gold and silver coins, or paper dollars that could be redeemed in gold and silver (gold and silver certificates representing owner‑ or bank‑held gold and silver). Gold coinage ceased in 1934 by governmental decree. The mints produced the last silver dollars in 1935; silver quarters, half‑dollars, and dimes were discontinued for general circulation in 1965.
The poor usually are the first affected by the debasement of money because they receive the ability to purchase goods when the effects of inflation already have ravaged the economy. The poor may be unemployed or hold low paying jobs with little or no increases in salary. If inflation increases 10‑15% per year and wages only 2‑5%, a reduction in purchasing power results. Of course, those not able to work or dependent on charity, experience an even more grievous condition. The Bible maintains that inflation has its greatest effects on widows and orphans:
“Your silver has become dross, your drink diluted with water. Your rulers are rebels, and companions of thieves; every one loves a bribe, and chases after rewards. They do not defend the orphan, nor does the widow’s plea come before them” (Isaiah 1:22–23).
The very policies instituted by politicians to help the poor created the massive debt that now has turned on the poor and made them even more dependent upon government assistance. To deliver the promised programs of prosperity, the federal government took our nation off the gold standard and inflated the dollar with more and more paper “currency,” since the gold standard prohibited our political leaders from tampering with the money supply.
When the official protector of weights and measures, the civil magistrate, disregards commandments regarding sound money, what stops the general populace from gouging the poor as well?
Isaiah 1:22-23 really hits the nail on the head where our government is concerned. How things change but they really stay the same.

Again, who is the ONLY candidate that supports sound money?Yes,you would be right,Ron Paul.

Obama's 'Faith-Based Energy Policy'

From Victor Davis Hanson:

A president, so Obama claims, has little control over gas prices. New domestic supplies of oil would not come on the market for years. Americans consume a quarter of the world’s oil supplies while possessing only 2 percent of global reserves. In a global oil market, additional American drilling would not make that much of a price difference.
But all of these claims are either flat wrong or misleading. Presidents can affect gas prices, at least in the long term, by exercising budgetary discipline resulting in a currency that buys more oil per dollar, by approving or rejecting federal oil leases, and by adding or curbing regulations that affect oil exploration and development. In all of these cases, Obama has supported policies that contribute to higher gas prices.
The point about the lag time between finding and pumping oil is valid. But that reality is precisely why presidents must green-light exploration for future generations — and why Obama is now bragging of record U.S. production only because of his predecessor’s granting of federal oil leases. Obama’s “it takes too long” argument is absurd — as if farmers should never plant new orchards since they won’t see fruit on their trees for three years or more.
Obama’s knowledge of U.S. reserves is 20 years out of date. In the first three years of his administration alone, new finds offshore, in Alaska, in the Gulf of Mexico, and in unexpected places such as North Dakota, Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio have revolutionized America’s energy future in ways undreamed of just a few years ago. We probably have 100 years of natural-gas supplies at present rates of consumption and could cut our imported oil by 50 percent in a few years.
Even Obama does not believe his own dismissals of the role of global supply and demand in setting energy prices. In a tight world oil market, just a few million more barrels a day produced anywhere — or even the indication that a major producer like America might soon put 2 million or 3 million more barrels a day on the market — can help to stabilize prices. That’s why Obama is considering tapping oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve while asking the Saudis to pump a little more. Does the president believe that more foreign or previously pumped oil would lower world prices in a way newly pumped domestic oil would not?
Technologies such as fracking and horizontal drilling have made it possible for Americans to produce their own oil and gas as never before. We can pump oil with less environmental damage than can Venezuela, Mexico, and Nigeria. New domestic production would save a near-bankrupt America billions of dollars currently being lost in import costs while cutting security expenses in deploying forces to the Middle East.
New oil development will create thousands of jobs, worry speculators that America will soon release lots of oil on the world market, and provide a window to produce alternative energies without slapdash, Solyndra-like boondoggles. Drilling is a win, win, and win choice — and so known to everyone except the president and his shrinking number of reactionary advisers, who prefer green faith to hard science.

I like the fact that Victor Davis Hanson includes our plummeting dollar into the equation of rising gas prices. Most only refer to more drilling as a way to ease our pain at the pump, while ignoring the fact that a strong dollar would effect the price of crude oil on the market, since it is bought and sold in U.S. dollars. The only cannidate anywhere, who is talking about strengthing our dollar,is Ron Paul.

'Police Intervene,Arrest Ron Paul Backers At Missouri Caucus'

From Yahoo:

Police and organizers shut down proceedings at one of Missouri's largest caucuses today, as Ron Paul supporters feuded with local GOP leaders.
"It's like the Hatfields and the McCoys around here," St. Charles County's former GOP chairman told ABC News, after police arrived on-scene with a helicopter and removed Paul backers.
In St. Charles, an exurb of St. Louis and one of the state's largest GOP counties, Paul supporters sought to elect their own chairman and adopt their own rules when proceedings opened - both of which are part of standard caucus rules and procedure. But as they argued with the caucus chair, Paul supporters held video cameras - against caucus rules, according to a GOP official who was there - and things became contentious.
This whole primary and caucus season has been a SHAM.The GOP will break their own rules to keep Ron Paul and his supporters from having any voice in THEIR party.

Whoever is GIVEN the GOP nomination in the end, will be a FRAUD!He will have won a RIGGED election, with all the cards stacked in his favor.

Why I'm Voting For Ron Paul

In the beginning I was hoping that Sarah Palin would enter the race, but she chose not to.After looking at all of the 'approved' candidates,I found they were conservatives in name only, more of a continuation of George W. Bush.So I decided to vote for my ideals and convictions instead of a personality.

I decided to vote for Constitutional government.A government that is clearly defined, with limits on what it could do and not do.A government that is committed to protecting my God given rights.

I decided to vote for sound money.A currency that is stable, that is able to retain its value over time, and able to resist inflation.

To have a sound currency,I decided to vote against the Fed.A cabal that chooses inflation to a strong dollar, that's does nothing but erode wealth, the life savings of our elderly.

Most importantly I decided to vote for freedom.Free markets, free speech, freedom of religion,I'm voting for the right to be my own master, and not be a ward of the state.Today our government has criminalized freedom.I cannot speak what I wish or it maybe labeled 'hate speech.'The government assumes criminal intent when I purchase a firearm.I am assumed to be a terrorist if I fly and don't meet the TSA's approval. On and on I'm a criminal,if I choose to live free.

These are the reasons I am voting for Ron Paul, because I simply want to live free.

Ron Paul And The Hobbit Conspiracy

The latest conspiracy theory that's being floated around -primarily by the Rick Santorum campaign- is that Ron Paul and Mitt Romney have a secret compact. The secret agreement would have Ron Paul attack only Santorum and Gingrich, leaving Romney untouched and handing him the GOP nomination. In return for this,Mitt Romney would name Ron Paul as his running mate.

This is not only laughable but absurd. From The republican Mother, this quote by Doug Wead, answers this absudity best:

"Ron Paul would throw the Ring of Power into Mount Doom."
"If 22 years of lobbyists, women, and ego temptations in Congress didn't corrupt Ron Paul, you actually think that Mitt Romney can corrupt him?"

How Ron Paul Would Effectively End Abortion In America

Ron Paul:
"To summarize my views--I believe the federal government has a role to play," said Paul. "I believe Roe v. Wade should be repealed. I believe federal law should declare that life begins at conception. And I believe states should regulate the enforcement of this law, as they do other laws against violence."
"I don't see the value in setting up a federal police force on this issue any more than I do on other issues," Paul said. "The Fourteenth Amendment was never intended to cancel out the Tenth Amendment. This means that I can’t agree that the Fourteenth Amendment has a role to play here, or otherwise we would end up with a 'Federal Department of Abortion.' Does anyone believe that will help life? We should allow our republican system of government to function as our Founders designed it to: protect rights at the federal level, enforce laws against violence at the state level.
"As President, I will sign and aggressively advocate for a law that removes abortion from the jurisdiction of the federal courts," said Paul. "This approach, done by simple majority vote and stroke of my Presidential Pen, would effectively overturn Roe v. Wade and allow states to pass strong pro-life legislation immediately. Millions of lives would be saved by this approach while we fight to make every state a right to life state."
While most Pro-Life Republicans talk a good game, they rarely do anything to actually stop abortions.Ron Paul is not only Pro-Life,but he has a plan, that is not only capable of ending this scourge in our country,it is also Constitutional.Tell me who is the most Pro-Life candidate?

This Is Why The GOP Will Lose In November

From ABC NEWS:

A prominent Republican senator just told me that if Romney can’t win in Michigan, the Republican Party needs to go back to the drawing board and convince somebody new to get into the race.
“If Romney cannot win Michigan, we need a new candidate,” said the senator, who has not endorsed anyone and requested anonymity.
The senator believes Romney will ultimately win in Michigan but says he will publicly call for the party to find a new candidate if he does not.
“We’d get killed,” the senator said if Romney manages to win the nomination after he failed to win the state in which he grew up.
“He’d be too damaged,” he said.  “If he can’t even win in Michigan, where his family is from, where he grew up.”
What about Rick Santorum?
“He’d lose 35 states,” the senator said, predicting the same fate for Newt Gingrich.
It would have to be somebody else, the senator said.  Who?
“Jeb Bush,” the former Florida governor.
If senator Anonymous wants to tell me,that if Romney can't win his home state of Michigan, the Republican party will "get killed" in November,I agree. You want to tell me that either Santorum or Gingrich would "lose 35 states" in a general election,I agree again. But if you want to suggest to me,senator Anonymous, that Jeb Bush is the answer,I would have to say,"you are out of your mind,John McCain."

This is why we need to vote for Ron Paul and help him get as many delegates as he can,to stop this kind of lunacy.

'Ron Paul's Delegate Strategy'

From Katrina Trinko:
And it’s not just Maine and Colorado. Talking to reporters in January, Benton predicted that the Paul campaign would ultimately “win the Iowa delegation, even though we took a close third place . . . on caucus night.” Seventy-five percent of the Minnesota delegates to local party conventions are Paul backers, according to the campaign.
Ultimately, the odds that Paul could get enough delegates to swing the national convention to a vote nominating him are nil. But the more delegates Paul controls, the more of an impact he can have on determining the GOP platform at the convention. Furthermore, if it does come to a brokered convention — admittedly an unlikely scenario — the Paul campaign will be ready. Benton refuses to speculate about what the specific odds are that there will be a brokered convention, but does say of the possibility, “We’ve always seen it as more likely than most people would.”
The campaign is also flirting with the possibility that “bound” delegates won’t ultimately be bound. “We would like to take a majority of the delegates and so if there is an unbinding after round one, or if there is a rule passed on the floor of the Republican National Convention to unbind the delegates, then the majority of the delegates [in a given state delegation] would be our supporters and we would control that delegation,” Benton remarks. He notes the campaign’s efforts in Nevada, where delegates are considered bound for the first round of votes: Paul came in third, winning 19 percent of the vote, but the campaign believes it currently controls 60 percent of the delegates. If by some chance those delegates became unbound (and the campaign managed to control 60 percent of the convention delegates), the convention-delegate vote would not mirror Nevada’s caucus vote.
Looking ahead, the campaign is particularly targeting Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, North Dakota, Kansas, and Missouri. Most of those states’ delegates are bound.
The Paul campaign is frank about its belief that no other campaign is as well set up to acquire delegates.
Wouldn't be something, while Mitt,Newt, and Santorum are out playing the beauty contest,Ron Paul slowly garners enough delegates to win the nomination.Either way Ron Paul will be heard at this Summers GOP convention.

'They Counted What Thay Wanted To Count'

From The American Spectator:
The Bangor Daily News is reporting that the Maine Republican Party is facing increasing pressure to reconsider its claim that Mitt Romney won the state's caucuses until all the votes are counted. (Hat tip: Taegan Goddard.) Some caucuses were postponed due to snow and told that they won't count in the final tally; towns that had their caucuses before February 11 were also inexplicably not counted.
The Bangor paper quotes a political science professor as saying "It sure looks like they counted what they wanted to count." It is by no means clear that the missing votes would be enough to change the outcome, but even Republicans who didn't support runner-up Ron Paul are concerned about the perceptions created by the state party's handling of the caucuses.
This is outright voter fraud and everybody knows it.

'Polls Are For Strippers' But Ron Paul Is In 2nd Place

A Reuters poll has Ron Paul climbing into 2nd place in its national poll.Ron Paul has jumped Gingrich with 21% and now trails Romney just by 8%.

Just imagine what those numbers may say if their wasn't a media blackout concerning Ron Paul.

'What Conservative Movement?'

Verbatim post from Riehl World View:
Gary Bauer aside, Bush 43 was correct, there's more than enough evidence to conclude there is no genuine Conservative Movement in America today; mostly, it's a term of art to define a fairly lucrative industry. Had there been, there would have been no need for the Tea Party to rise up; there would be at least one, if not more top notch conservatives running for President this year and the self-professed leaders of said movement would be leading something, as opposed to running book clubs, now fatted institutions and selling speeches to anyone interested in hearing them discuss Republican politics and some ideals they, in large part, don't even fight for when it comes down to it.“What is this movement you keep talking about in the speech?” the president asked Latimer. Latimer explained that he meant the conservative movement — the movement that gave rise to groups like CPAC. Bush seemed perplexed. Latimer elaborated a bit more. Then Bush leaned forward, with a point to make. “Let me tell you something,” the president said. “I whupped Gary Bauer’s ass in 2000. So take out all this movement stuff. There is no movement.”h/t Erick Erickson for this in Time. My operating assumption for years has been that, for the most part, would be conservatives who rode Reagan's coat-tails to Washington have long been corrupted, at least in their thinking, as they've institutionalized themselves across so many foundations and think tanks now beholden to the same major funding mechanism that funds Republican politics. At this point, it's impossible to separate one from the other, though they'll continue to tell you they aren't one and the same. That's ridiculous. When an organization like the Heritage Foundation comes up with the underpinnings of Romneycare and now Obamacare, whether they've since backtracked, or not, what else is it that you really need to know? What Is a Conservative? Mitt Romney’s advance toward the Republican presidential nomination has provoked a lively conversation about what it means to be a conservative in America today. TIME asked a number of right-leaning thinkers to answer one of three questions to help define both their ideology and their challenges for the future. In fact, among those who chose to answer the question: Is there a crisis in the conservative movement? Reason's Nick Gillespie is by far the most honest and accurate, while making the most sense. At least since the election of St. Ronald Reagan, self-styled conservatives have repeatedly revealed themselves to be the biggest frauds or most delusional suckers in American politics. Conservatives ostensibly believe in limited government and individuals who are smart and moral enough to use voluntary associations and free markets to meet the needs of all God’s children. But under Reagan and, more recently, George W. Bush and a Republican Congress that spent like LBJ on a bourbon-fueled bender, they cheered an immense increase not just in federal outlays and borrowing but also in centralization of power in Washington. Before telling us that Mitt Romney is testament to the great success of Reaganite conservatism today - with a straight face, I hope - National Republicans Online editor Rich Lowry tells us there is no crisis in the movement today. Of course not, because there is no genuine movement and the only crisis that might gain Lowry's attention would be if NRO's donations took a nose dive. Does anyone believe Lowry is leading anything today that does anything but give Republicans a more right-leaning alternative to what progressive Democrats are trying to do at any point in time, as both parties ultimately combine to grow government and infringe upon the individual liberty of Americans? If Lowry leads anything, it's a shell game wrapped within a marketing scam based upon a brand he's all but destroyed. This isn’t a crisis; it’s a primary. A dispiriting one, to be sure, but it shouldn’t obscure the significant strengths of contemporary conservatism. Not that it matters a great deal, but I'm not ready to speculate on where things go from here for conservatives and to do so would make this post too long to be worth reading. It's something I want to think about and I would encourage other conservatives to think on it, too. But if the 2012 primary tells us anything, it is that, effectively, there is no genuine organized grassroots conservative movement in America today and the vast majority of those in Washington portrayed as leaders of some imagined conservative movement are little more than Republican Party toadies, more protective of and concerned with their place at the trough in Washington, than they are about advancing anything like genuine conservative ideas and ideals.
I agree with the all of the above except on one point, the conservative movement is alive and well with Ron Paul.Stop the whining, get back in the game, stop supporting frauds like Gingrich and Santorum, and vote for Ron Paul and give him as many delegates we can so he can lead a fight on the convention floor or just maybe a walk-out and let these frauds and hucksters have their precious GOP.
