Racial Sensitivity Gone Awry

How many liberals does it take,to screw things up?:
Figuring out how many oranges were picked by slaves and how many beatings per day Frederick Douglass received was allowed to help teach elementary students their multiplication and division tables at one school.
Administrators at Gwinnett
On Wednesday, nine third-grade math teachers at Beaver Ridge Elementary School were attempting to do a cross-curricular activity with a book the children had read about abolitionist Frederick Douglass in their social studies class. District spokeswoman Sloan Roach told CBS Atlanta that the math problems in the assignment involved some of what the students learned about Douglass. Four of the nine classes wound up sending the assignment home with the students. But when some parents were going over the students’ homework, they became appalled at the nature and language of two questions in particular.
I just love it when liberalism blows up in the lefts face. All these liberal teachers were trying to do,was to teach these 'young skulls full of mush' some Black Liberation Theology. They just wanted the white kids in their class to feel guilty over something they had nothing to do with and show them how hard it is to be black in America today. How horrible is that?Isn't this what liberals want?

This is what you get, when you supplant the teaching of history with racial sensitivity training, nonesense and stupidity.

'Sesame Street Unveils New Muppet To Teach Kids About Hunger'

Sesame Street's new Muppet:

Sesame Street has a new muppet who is hungry for more than just cookies.
The iconic kids show is set to unveil a new impoverished puppet named Lily, whose family faces an ongoing struggle with hunger issues. Lily will be revealed in a one-hour Sesame Street primetime special, Growing Hope Against Hunger, which is being sponsored by Walmart. The special will star country singer Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams Paisley, as well as the Sesame Street Muppets
First of all this is just another attempt by Sesame Street to indocirnate our children with socialism in the name of compassion. One of the reason's that communism, socialism and liberalism succeed so well is they target the youth, while conservatives primarily target adults.

Also, why do we have to acquaint our children with the horrors of the world? They will have plenty of time as they grow older to learn that life isn't all fluffy clouds and rainbows, but life can be harsh and hard too.Let children be children and stop stealing their childhood!

'Why Are Finland's Schools Sucessful'

Maybe Finland's sucess in education doesn't lie in its socialism or in its core curriculim, but rather its success lies in this statement from,Kari Louhivouri,a Finnish school principal:
“This is what we do every day, prepare kids for life.”
Maybe if we started to prepare children for life, rather than socially indoctorinating children,we could enjoy the same success.

Steyn Putting It All In Perspective

Mark Steyn,puts in proper perspective,the News of the World hacking story,the Atlanta schools cheating scandal,and project Gunrunner;

We’re not talking about hacking a schoolgirl’s cellphone here. Real people are dead. Yet nobody’s going to close down any wing of the vast spendaholic DEATFBI hydra-headed security-state turf-war. And while Eric Holder, the buccaneering attorney general at the center of this wilderness of mirrors, doesn’t yet have as many Distinguished Public Servant of the Year awards as Beverly Hall, judging from his cheerfully upfront obstruction of the congressional investigation, he’s not planning on going anywhere soon.
So, at the News of the World, every single employee is clearing out his desk. But, at the Atlantic Public Schools, at the DEATFBI, life goes on. A curious contrast. The striking feature of Big Government, from Athens to Sacramento, is its imperviousness to any kind of accountability — legal, fiscal, electoral, popular. A media mogul, a bank chairman, an oil executive, a corporate-jet depreciation-claimant are easily demonizable: As President Obama cautioned CEOs a couple of years back, “My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”
