'Baggage'

The left-wing media finally accomplished its task with the character assination of Herman Cain, causing him to suspend his campaign, basically quiting the race.I am no supporter of Herman Cain, primarily because of his wishy-washingness concerning the Constitution, but he has been slandered by the MSM based on allegations from a bunch of gold diggers, with no real proof he did anything. When these same kind of allegations happened to the whoremonger and chief,Bill Clinton,we were told by the same MSM that this was his personal life and did not pertain to his ability to hold office. Can you say hypocrites!

The worst part of this whole character assination is that a lot of the conservative media joined in on the execution.A lot of our so called 'gate-keepers' need to take heed and listen to Professor William Jacobson:

Point 1 is something I have been writing about almost since the start of this blog, the need to defend Republicans and conservatives and Tea Party supporters against media smears regardless of whether you support the particular candidate. The David Frum wing of the Republican Party doesn’t see it that way, and frankly, neither does much of the conservative media. Piling on Sarah Palin was taken as a sign of moral and intellectual courage when in fact it was moral and intellectual cowardess. Many of those same people joined the Democratic pro-Obama mainstream media in piling on caricatures and distortions regarding Rick Perry, Herman Cain, and now Newt.

Point 2 is a truism, but begs the question of what is “baggage.” I surmise from John’s post that he is talking about Newt, as to whom the term “baggage” most frequently is used. But what is baggage in an election?
Personal faults and defaults will not factor in as much as long as not illegal, provided they are acknowledged and atoned for. That is why the social conservative vote has not written off Newt, or fully embraced other candidates without known personal baggage.
What about political baggage? That’s more problematic in a campaign. It’s the reason the Obama campaign has targeted Romney’s political “core.” As I pointed out before, it’s a theme which has worked in the past against Romney.
But my biggest issue with the “baggage” concern is that it is defensive. Regardless of who the Republican nominee is, the media will deem that candidate to have baggage.
The purest of personally pure candidates will be faulted for being a religious nut and not hip enough to be president, someone from the white bread 1950s. Policies advocating personal responsibility and empowerment will be portrayed as cruel and favoring the rich. Advocacy of treating people according to the content of their characters rather than the colors of their skin will be protrayed as racially insensitive or racist.
So yes, don’t select a nominee with so much baggage that the nominee is unelectable, but think through what “baggage” really means, and don’t try to placate the mainstream media which will be against our nominee, baggage or not.

NBC's David Gregory: No "Grand Wizard" In The GOP To "Force" Cain Out

Via Real Clear Politics:

On Wednesday's "Today" show, host of NBC's "Meet the Press" David Gregory says there is no "Grand Wizard" right now in the GOP to "force" Cain out of the primary. Transcript below:

Ann Curry, NBC News: "He's not stepping down, continuing to suck the air out of the narrative the Republican party really wants to tell. Does the party now wish he would just go away?"

David Gregory, NBC News: "Well there is no, you know, Grand Wizard in the party right now who can really force the issue. I've talked to Cain's advisers in Iowa, they think their support is still strong there, that it's not falling. There may be cracks in the foundation according to pollsters I'm talking to, that his numbers may be starting to shift but right now core support remains there."
Mr. Gregory is confused.Sen. Robert Byrd was Democrat, not a Republican.

They are no bigger racists than liberals.

Herman Cain Is Pro-Choice/Pro-Life Or Something Like That

Herman Cain tells Piers Morgan that he is Pro-life/Pro-Choice or something like that:
And yet, interestingly, here’s what Cain said to Morgan concerning abortion for people who are not his family members:
No, it comes down to is, it’s not the government’s role — or anybody else’s role — to make that decision. Secondly, if you look at the statistical incidents, you’re not talking about that big a number. So what I’m saying is, it ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president. Not some politician. Not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn’t try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision.
Morgan then said that Cain cannot hide behind the “mask of the pizza guy,” and that, as a person who may potentially become president, his views on issues like abortion become “a directive to the nation.” Cain’s response?
No, they don’t. I can have an opinion on an issue without it being a directive on the nation. The government shouldn’t be trying to tell people everything to do, especially when it comes to a social decision that they need to make.
So, there you have it: Herman Cain is against abortion, personally, but is firmly pro-choice, as he believes the government should not intervene in social decisions. And that extends to same-sex marriage, by the way. As you may recall, Cain said recently, during an appearance on Meet The Press, that “I wouldn’t seek a constitutional ban for same-sex marriage, but I am pro-traditional marriage.”
Herman Cain is very wishy-washy when it comes to matters involving the Constitution. He is Pro-Life but doesn't want government to protect unborn innocent life.He is pro traditional marriage, but doesn't want a Constitutional amendment to protect it from the left, who want to destroy the traditional family.Let us not forget this,Herman Cain said,he believed in 2nd Amendment rights, but then said, the states had a right to restrict those same rights.

Being wish-washy makes Herman Cain a good T.V. personality, but it makes him unfit to be POTUS.

'Honestly Vetting Herman Cain'

Herman Cain and TARP:

Examining Herman Cain's record leaves serious questions about which type of problem-solver he is.  In a column published October 20, 2008, Cain blamed conservatives' "economic illiteracy" for their opposition to the freshly passed Trouble Assets Relief Program.

"Wake up people!" admonished Cain with typical candor.  "Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem."  Cain goes on to defend Treasury's decision to post-legislatively change TARP to buy preferred stock in banks rather than toxic mortgages.  "You got a problem with that?" asks Cain.  Apparently he didn't.

Cain reassures "free market purists" that the Treasury's stock purchase is "not nationalization because that would require government to own at least 51% of the entity for an indefinite period of time."  (This is a relief, because some of us thought that government would use this foot in the door to force mergers, control salaries, and set lending rules.  Oh, wait...)

The issue isn't that one mistake disqualifies a candidate from office, but rather the rationale Cain uses to justify TARP.  Is there no limit to government power so long as it's a "win-win for the tax-payer"1?  Does the Executive Branch have the authority to decide what constitutes a win-win?  If, as Cain concludes, "unprecedented problems require unprecedented solutions," then does that include unconstitutional solutions?
The more you go beyond Herman Cain's rhetoric and begin to examine exactly what he stands for,he looks the same as Mitt Romney,Rick Perry, and all the rest, they are for Big Government when it suits their purposes.

Random Thoughts

Just a few random thoughts.

1.Rick Perry has turned out to be a spoof of Dubya, rather than a George W. Bush Reduex.

2.Necessity maybe the mother of invention, but wealth is invention's father.

3.I am tired of politicians playing hard to get,Chris Christie and Sarah Palin.Either enter the fray or shut the hell up.

4.Herman Cain talks a good game, but me thinks if elected,he would cave like all the rest.

5.Ever since Mark Harmon forced out Donald Bellisarrio as show runner/head writer,NCIS hasn't been as good.

6.The Indianapolis Colt's are 0-4 this season without Peyton Manning. Is Peyton the Most Valuable Player in NFL history?

Herman Cain Gots Some Explaining To Do

I was very disappointed when I heard Herman Cain say this;

The 2nd amendment,to put it plain and simple,is non-negotiable!We have a God given right to protect ourselves, persons who are in our care, and our property, from anyone wishing to do them harm, with whatever force maybe necessary, period. We have a Constitutional right to arm ourselves with any weapon that may aid us in the defence of our lives, our families, and homes, without any interference from the Federal or state governments.

Here are 10 questions,via Free North Carolina,that Herman Cain needs to answer to clarify his position on the 2nd amendment;
1. Do you believe that the Constitution is the "supreme law of the land" and that the Bill of Rights acknowledges our birthrights? 2. If so, should these rights be proactively protected from infringement by all levels of government, including city, county and state?
3. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider constitutional.
4. Please give some examples of gun laws you consider unconstitutional.
5. Does the right to bear arms include the right for any peaceable citizen to carry them concealed without a permit, as in Vermont?
6. Do you believe that Americans have a right to own, use and carry weapons of military pattern, and will you use the prestige of elected office to publicly promote that right?
7. Do you support or oppose registration of weapons? Why?
8. Do you support or oppose licensing requirements to own or carry firearms? Why?
9. What specific gun laws will you work to get repealed?
10. If elected, will you back your words of support for firearms rights up with consistent actions? How?
