'Croynism,The American Way'

Vernonique de Rugy:
In their new book Why Nations Fail, economists Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson explain a country’s institutions’ impact on its wealth and economic growth. They, for instance, argue “that the ultimate cause for economic success or failure is rooted within each countries’ institutions, and that understanding how those institutions evolve is crucial for development.”
In a recent interview, which I already mentioned this morning, Acemoglu warned us about how in most countries, including the United States, the biggest rent seekers and moochers today are politicians themselves.
But nowadays in most countries, the most extractive elite is the politicians themselves. Think of Greece. You cannot understand the last three decades without understanding corrupt political system. But the same is true even for the United States. The US political system has become dominated by the political elite and the lobbying industry funneling money to them. We are seeing the costs of this at this moment.
Whether America’s institutions have now become more exclusive than inclusive is obviously an empirical question. But there is plenty of extraction going on right now. In this piece, for instance, the Washington Examiner’s Tim Carney reports on how companies like Microsoft were given very strong signals that hard work isn’t enough to do business in this country and that the right to produce and sell goods and services also requires, political contributions and lobbying capabilities.
Crony capitalism, where the government picks their favorites,is destroying America. There is no free markets when the government is involved, just coercion.

Could We Be Heading Towards World War III In Syria?

From The Times Of Israel:

Iran, Syria, Russia and China are planning the “biggest-ever wargames in the Middle East,” according to an unconfirmed report on the semi-official Iranian news site Fars News.
According to the article, the four countries are preparing 90,000 troops, 400 aircraft and 1,000 tanks for the massive joint maneuvers, which are to take place along the Syrian coast within a month.
The report states that Russian “atomic submarines and warships, aircraft carriers and mine-clearing destroyers as well as Iranian battleships and submarines will also arrive in Syria” and that Egypt has agreed to let 12 Chinese warships cross the Suez Canal for the exercises.
This isn't a wargames exercise. This is a line of demarcation against the 'regieme change' foreign policy that this country has now adopted. This is a stand against this new British style colonialism were we seek to make the world America. They are not having it any longer.

'So Who Needs Romney?'

Ever since Rand Paul endorsed Romney I have been really depressed.Ron Paul seems to have left his supporters hanging, refusing to stand up on their behalf against the establishment, while they are out in the trenches literally risking life and limb.I'm really disappointed in Ron Paul over this, but that's water over the dam.

One thing Romney and the establishment needs to understand, just because Rand endorsed you doesn't mean that WE -those of us who have supported Ron Paul- will follow in his foot steps.Doug Weed makes this point clear:
Establishment Republicans and the main stream media are having a difficult time understanding why Ron Paul supporters aren’t just falling into line behind Mitt Romney.  Don’t we want the GOP to win?  And don’t we want our own candidate to win the nomination someday?  And if so, don’t we realize that we have to be loyal to the nominee this time?
Of course, these are the same establishment Republicans who are hiring off duty policemen to arrest and detain our duly elected county chairmen, or locking the registered rolls of delegates in the trunks of their cars so that the convention cannot have a roll call vote and they can claim “Ayes have it,” when the “Ayes” don’t have anything.
And this is the mainstream media that gave Ron Paul 89 seconds of an hour long televised debate.  And who in another debate, gave their anchor almost as much time as Dr. Paul, the presidential candidate.  And who ignore videotaped state conventions where delegates have their bones broken for more compelling news stories elsewhere.
We see the train headed toward a canyon and the bridge is out.  There is going to be a great crash.  And meanwhile, we are being urged to change the engineer.  “Obama is driving this train 100 mph!” we are told by hand wringing, hysterical, establishment Republicans.  “We need to get Romney in there.  He will slow it down to 95.”
One point I would like to add to this, while the establishment love to demand that we fall in line and support the nominee, this is something they rarely do.When Christine O'Donnell won the Delaware primary in 2010 the 'All-Stars' on Fox attacked her viciously. When Lisa Murkowski lost to Joe Miller in the Alaska GOP primary, she didn't accept the result, she ran as a independent in the general election. Not to mention the attacks upon Sarah Palin and others that came from the GOP.

We don't owe them anything and its going to be a pretty cold place in you know where before I vote for Romney!

'The Keynesian Case For Romney'

From the Washington Post:
But Romney, though he often buys into that sort of nonsense while criticizing Obama, knows better. Time magazine asked him about cutting spending in 2013. “If you take a trillion dollars for instance, out of the first year of the federal budget, that would shrink GDP over 5 percent,” Romney said. “That is by definition throwing us into recession or depression. So I’m not going to do that, of course.” You couldn’t have gotten a clearer definition of Keynesian budgeting from Obama.
There’s a good chance that a Romney administration would extend both Bush and Obama’s tax cuts and delay the scheduled spending cuts. Congress would raise the debt ceiling after Romney promised congressional Republicans that he’d sign some variant of Paul Ryan’s budget as soon as it’s sent to him. Somewhere along the way, Romney would pass both more short-term tax cuts and a long-term transportation bill — something Republicans have been blocking under Obama — that doubles as an infrastructure package and includes, to secure Republican support, the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
Nor is it clear that this will come at the cost of harsh deficit reduction in coming years. There will almost certainly be deep spending cuts if Romney is president, but both the Romney and Ryan proposals include trillions of dollars in unpaid-for tax cuts and defense spending. If Republicans clear that hurdle by simply assuming that deep tax cuts will lead, through supply-side magic, to larger revenues, their deficit-reduction plans might well end up increasing the deficit over the next few years. “Remember,” wrote Business Insider’s Joe Weisenthal, “Republicans were pro-deficit, and pro-entitlement expansion under Bush and Reagan. Deficit cutting only became part of the party’s ideology under Obama.”
Compared to anything Obama is likely to get from a Republican House, that is, at least in the short term, a much more expansionary, Keynesian approach. But it’s also an awful precedent. In a sense, Republicans are holding a gun to the economy’s head and saying, “vote for us or the recovery gets it.”
That might well prove an effective political strategy: The more they say that they’re willing to let the debt ceiling expire and the economy run over the fiscal cliff, the more businesses will pull back and households will stop spending in order to make sure they have enough cash on hand to ride out another crisis. That will further depress the economy this year, making it more likely that Romney wins, and that Republicans embrace the smooth Keynesian glide path that they’re denying Obama.
Electing Mitt Romney in November is no different than giving Obama a 2nd term. The GOP talks spending cuts but has of yet to produce any.

Hat tip to Conservatives 4 Palin.

'Imminent Crash'

From the Market Ticker:
Here's the problem though with the sigh of relief you're probably letting out this morning after the drubbing the market handed you Friday -- nothing has in fact been fixed.
That is, the collapse is coming.  Soon -- months, if not weeks from today.  It's coming because there is still not one government that is facing reality -- that one cannot spend more than one makes, and that when governments do that via monetary machinations it is simply debasement of purchasing power.
This must inevitably force increasing numbers of people into poverty, when then forces them to turn to government for "help", and that swells demand for government services.
If you discern that this pattern is a self-reinforcing cycle of destruction, you're right.
It is.
Those who have even a rudimentary understanding of middle-school arithmetic -- specifically, exponents -- understand that this path must eventually end in disaster.
Go back and again read the Ticker entitled "What You Simply MUST Understand".  Read it however many times you need to until it sinks in.  You may need to read it once, twice, three times, ten times.  Get out your calculator or pencil and paper and verify everything in it for yourself.
If you're a politician, spend the time to contemplate that Ticker and what it means in the context of "growth of 3%", "growth of 5%" or, the nightmare, medical spending that has been growing at 9.3%, approximately, from 1980 to 2011 at the Federal level.
Now consider that this means that medical spending doubles every 7.5 years, and last year it was $820 billion, more or less.  In 7 year it will be $1.6 trillion, generating an additional $800 billion in deficits every single year.  In 15 years it will generate $1.5 trillion of additional deficits every single year.
Well, it would generate that level of deficit if our government didn't collapse first -- but it will if we try to do that.
Think about it long and hard folks.
That is the issue in the election this year and in our government in general.  It is the issue for Federal, State and Local governments.  If we do not address this, and do it now, nothing else -- not foreign policy, not gay marriage, not legalization of pot, nothing -- will matter.
We must deal with the fact that this situation has arisen through 30 years of fraud committed by both politicians and financiers in concert with The Fed that have intentionally distorted markets and lied to the public for the explicit purpose of skimming off more and more of the earnings power of the common man.  This has constituted an effective doubling of what the average person loses to "taxation" just in the last three years alone and the "benefit" of that taxation has gone to the banksters to cover up their insolvency-- just as the "Troika" money has in Greece -- rather than actually being spent on programs the voters have desired and clamored for!
The only issue that will matter if we do not address this right now is your Second Amendment rights, because with the inevitable failure of our government you will need to provide for your own personal defense at all times, as there will be no cops, no judges, no courtrooms and no juries -- but there will be lots of thugs.
No man and no woman running for public office is qualified to stand for that election until and unless they address this issue, explain how they're going to solve it and that they understand the inevitable consequences of doing so -- right here, right now, this year, not "in the intermediate term."
And they cannot, in doing so, resort to yet more fraudulent claims of infinite exponential growth.
If you haven't prepared yourself for the eventual collapse of our economy,I suggest you should!

'How The Economic Collapse Will Start'

Don't be deceived! If we don't get our fiscal house in order soon, even though they are those who still don't believe deficits matter, either this or another horrible scenario will play out against us.This can not go on forever,at some point we are going to have to face the music.

2012 Election Rigged!

Robert E. Lee Takes Command

On this day 150 years ago, after the battle of Fair Oaks where then commanding General Joeseph E. Johnston was grievously wounded,President Jefferson Davis placed in command of the Army of Northern Virgina,Robert E. Lee.No other decision would Davis make have a bigger impact on the war.

Lee brought an new aggressive spirit to the ANV.No longer would they wait and react to the actions of Army of the Potomac, but they would now take the initiative and seek to impose its will on the Army of the Potomac, going on the offensive.

The objectives Lee incorporated for the army were these.

 1.) Relieve Richmond.

 2.) Relieve Virgina.

3.) Invade the North.Thereby relieving Virgina, garnering much needed supplies, and bringing the war home to the North.

4.) At some point destroy the Army of the Potomac.

Lee succeeded in the first 3 objectives and coming close twice to accomplishing the 4th.

Due to limited resources and a small population from which to draw troop strength from,Lee understood -where many at that time didn't- that he had a very narrow window in which to try to win the war.For a little over a year the ANV dominated the Army of the Potomac, until it made its crest at Gettysburg.

Afterwards, with an severe lack of resources and ranks he could not fill,Lee changed his strategy. He sought to bludgeon the Army of the Potomac, attempting to destroy the North's will to fight.By using earthworks he maximized his troops against impossible odds,2 to 1,3 to 1,eventually 6-1He extended the war far longer than it should have lasted.

Robert E. Lee was this country's greatest general and probably, next to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, the greatest man this country ever produced,IMHO.
